ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is an exploration of raw, unbound energy—a physical dialogue between memory and the canvas."
My practice is an immersive exploration of energy, captured through the untamed and intuitive language of Abstract Expressionism. I do not merely paint; I engage in a visceral, physical dialogue with the canvas. Using palette knives to sculpt bold, dimensional textures, brushes to guide vibrant fluidities, and my own hands to press raw emotion directly into the grain, the process becomes an act of living translation.
For me, color is a distinct pulse. By layering vivid hues with sweeping, gestural movements, I create spaces that invite the viewer to feel the rhythmic momentum of creation itself. Within the Arlia-Hamda Elmi Atelier, art transcends the visual—it is a deeply tactile, breathing experience of life at its most vibrant and uncontained.
